I've spent three decades helping clients achieve their financial goals — whether that means attaining financial independence, retiring early, funding education, or simply having the freedom to travel regularly. I focus on investment vehicle selection, portfolio monitoring, and comprehensive client servicing. What drives me most is educating clients about the markets and helping them understand their options. Every client has my personal mobile number, and I encourage them to use it anytime they need immediate guidance. I believe everybody's financial story is different and fascinating in its own way.
My path into this industry began with an unlikely inspiration. In 1995, I read about Nick Leeson, a trader who brought down Barings Bank through unauthorized trading that cost over $1 billion. What struck me wasn't the scandal, but learning that Leeson had started his career in the back office despite having only a high school education. As a recent UC Berkeley graduate with a BA in Political Economies of Industrial Societies, I thought if he could build a successful career in finance, so could I. I knocked on doors at Montgomery Securities, one of San Francisco's premier merchant banks, until they gave me a back office position — the same way Nick had started. That persistence launched my career.
Growing up in Foster City, Belmont, and San Jose, I understood what financial stress felt like. We lived in a nice house with a pool, but there never seemed to be enough for extras — vacations were rare, and getting spending money meant relying on a small allowance. That experience taught me how financial limitations can impact a family's quality of life, and it's shaped my commitment to helping others build the financial foundation they need.
Today, I live in Alameda with my partner, Mary, drawn to being close to the water and San Francisco's diverse culture and vibrant food scene. My two children, Shaan and Surina, are both at UCLA — a reminder of why building wealth matters for the goals that matter most to families. I earned my CFP certification in 2014 and recently completed my CBDA certification in 2025.
When I'm not working with clients, you'll find me cooking and pairing food with wine, following the 49ers, Giants, Warriors, FC Barcelona, and Formula One, or hitting the gym. I'm a failed guitarist who occasionally rides his road bike around the Bay Area. These interests keep me grounded and remind me that wealth is ultimately about having the freedom to enjoy life's pleasures, both big and small.
